02 What We Collect
We collect different types of information depending on which product you use and how you interact with it.
Information you give us directly:
- Name or display name, email address, and PIN when you create an account or submit to a gallery
- Social media handles you choose to share (e.g. Instagram username)
- Images you upload for framing, editing, or scheduling
- Game progress, scores, and preferences
- Messages you send us (bug reports, support emails)
Information collected automatically:
- Anonymous session identifiers stored in your browser (no login required)
- Basic usage logs (which tools you used, download counts) to help us improve features — not tied to your identity unless you're logged in
- Standard server logs (IP address, browser type, referring URL) retained briefly for security and debugging
Information from third-party platforms: If you connect a social account (Facebook, Instagram, Bluesky, LinkedIn, Google Business) to Bubo Social, we receive access tokens and basic profile information from that platform in order to post on your behalf. We do not access your followers, messages, or contacts.
03 How We Use It
- To provide and improve our tools and features
- To authenticate you and keep your account secure
- To post content to connected social accounts at your direction (Bubo Social)
- To process payments for subscriptions or packs (via Stripe — see Section 5)
- To send you transactional emails (magic login links, receipts). We do not send marketing email unless you opt in.
- To display your submissions in public galleries (Wee Hours Framery) with your consent
- To track anonymous usage patterns and fix bugs
We do not use your data to train AI models. We do not sell your data to anyone for any purpose.
04 Sharing & Third Parties
We share your information only in these limited circumstances:
- Social platforms you connect: When you schedule or publish a post through Bubo Social, content is sent to the platform(s) you selected. Their own privacy policies apply.
- Stripe: Payment processing. We never see your full card number — Stripe handles it. See Section 5.
- Google Apps Script / Drive: Some products (Wee Hours Framery) use Google infrastructure for image storage and gallery data. Data is stored in our Google Workspace account.
- Supabase: PlayBackWords uses Supabase for real-time game data and authentication.
- Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety of our users or the public.
We do not serve ads. We do not sell or rent your data to advertisers or data brokers.
05 Payments
Paid features on go2.art and Bubo Social are processed by Stripe. When you make a purchase:
- Your payment details go directly to Stripe — we never store card numbers or CVVs
- We receive a transaction confirmation and your billing email from Stripe
- Stripe's Privacy Policy applies to data they collect: stripe.com/privacy
Subscription and pack purchases may be subject to our refund policy, which is stated at the point of purchase.
06 Cookies & Local Storage
We use browser storage (cookies, localStorage, sessionStorage) to:
- Keep you logged in between sessions
- Remember your preferences (e.g. saved styles in the Framery, game settings)
- Store anonymous session IDs for basic usage analytics
We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising pixels. You can clear browser storage at any time through your browser settings, which will log you out and reset preferences.
07 Your Rights
Regardless of where you are located, you can:
- Access your data: Ask us what information we hold about you
- Correct your data: Update your display name, handle, or email via your profile settings
- Delete your data: Request deletion of your account and associated data by emailing us
- Withdraw connected accounts: Disconnect social accounts from Bubo Social at any time in Settings → Accounts
- Opt out of gallery display: Gallery submissions can be removed by contacting us
EU/UK users (GDPR): You have additional rights including data portability and the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. Our lawful basis for processing is legitimate interest (providing the service you requested) and consent (gallery submissions, connected social accounts).
California users (CCPA): We do not sell personal information. You have the right to know what data we collect and to request deletion. Contact us to exercise these rights.
08 Children
Our products are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Game products (like Angry Broads) may be played by anyone but do not require account creation or personal data to play.
09 Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including HTTPS encryption, hashed authentication tokens, and access controls on our databases. However, no system is perfectly secure — please use a unique PIN for your Wee Hours Studio account and don't share your login credentials.
If you discover a security vulnerability, please report it to us directly rather than publicly disclosing it.
10 Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time as our products evolve. When we make significant changes, we'll update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of our products after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
We'll never make changes that retroactively allow the sale of data we previously promised to protect.
